DIY Sailor Moon Notebook

P1010165.JPG

As we approach the end of summer many of us are off to go buy new stationeries. So why not glam up your ordinary college-ruled notebook with a cute Sailor Moon design.

Note : I'm not a very good painter nor do you have to be a pro, but the key is trying your best and not discouraging yourself from trying even if it isn't perfect. You may not be good at something now but with practice you always have potential to get better!

College Advice for Freshmen

After high school majority of people we know choose to pursue higher education. For those who do, college can be an experience where you have the privilege of going to a new city. For others it can be going to your local state or community college. Certainly, there isn't one better way than the other. (Trust me)

I personally have gone off to a California State University in a city around 2 hours from me, but after not being able to figure out what I really want to do and experiencing the unhappiest year of my life (roommate story). I have decided to continue my education in community college, testing the waters of a new major(nursing) while balancing a part-time job.

Besides that here are some advice and tips that I've managed to compile for those who are looking forward to their first year of college from my experience and others.

Adventure: Cafe Maji and Paper Crane

For the Paper crane concert, my friend and a recent new friend I made that day, drove up to LA. Making a pit stop around LA we decided to go to Cerritos and visit this little eatery called Cafe Maji. They offer a vast selection of food from savory to sweet. The cafe had adorable decor that kept to a center theme: an innocent child's bedroom. I have a deep appreciation to the attention of detail that they have put into the cafe.

The menus were uniquely made from photo albums which I found very endearing and simplistic.

Review: Cruelty-free/Vegan Skin Care Products

Choosing a skin care line is important for maintaining healthy skin. With the vast majority of skincare products and lines it can be difficult to find the right product to treat our face. I've gone through a generous amount of facial cleansers. However I've found these cruelty-free and vegan products and quite effective against my occasional breakouts. This post breaks down everything you need to know about some of my favorite (or not) skincare products that I currently own and have been using extensively.

Products being reviewed

Note : I will be reviewing these products by overall effectiveness and ingredients. If you wish to find the details and descriptions of the product there will be links to their Beautypedia reviews below! (For some products)

French Girl Cleanser / Lush Tea Tree Toner / Nature's Gate Moisturizer/ Mario Badescu Spray / Mario Badescu Drying Lotion

About my Skin: I have a combination of having oil and dry skin. It can be oily right around my nose, forehead and cheekbones. But the rest of my face falls into the normal however slightly dry category with occasional breakouts. My breakouts are usually around my chin or the lower half of my cheeks. I also do have pores that are noticeable around my cheeks and nose.

Skin Type: Combination of having an oily complexion and dry

Roommate Horror Story: Filing a Police Report against my Manipulative Roommate

(Actual names have been changed)

It was obvious that someone was stealing my money as it was disappearing the next day, but it took me a while to notice. I was in college, living in an apartment with three other women. However with the trust we established within the three of us I assumed the lost of my stuff was due to my incompetence. Besides that, I was too focused on my studies and classes, managing my mental illnesses, friends and club obligations leaving me little time to ever be protective of my belongings.

In our apartment we had two bedrooms right across from each other. Each room was big enough for two people to share each room. My actual roommate and I got along well. Living in the room across from me was Samoa.

Adventure: Catalina Island 2016

In celebration of my 19th birthday my family and I went to Santa Catalina Island! My dad planned a 2 day trip where we would drive up in the afternoon near Los Angeles and stay at a hotel. In the early morning we would depart from the hotel and go to Dana point (around 6:00A.M)

From Dana Point to Catalina Island was around a 1 hour boat ride and the least of the phase "smooth sailing from here". However during the ride we got to see dolphins and experience some light fog that would make your hair damp.

When we first got to the Island we went straight to riding on the Golf carts and rented it for about 2 hours. Our family drove on a steep mountain and got a wonderful view of Downtown and the pier.
